Our Story

A family winemaking journey in Napa Valley

Our Philosophy

Humm Vineyard sits atop our Cayetano Hill property with beautiful views of hills, vineyards, and hummingbirds enjoying their nectar in our lush outdoor "rooms" of foliage. This vineyard gives us rich Cabs and Zins and we invite you to enjoy!

We believe great wine starts in the vineyard. By tending our vines with care and harvesting at just the right moment, we let the character of our land shine through in every bottle. Our approach is hands-on, personal, and guided by a deep respect for the winemaking tradition.

The Dream Begins

We purchased our property on Cayetano Hill in the Coombsville AVA of Napa Valley, drawn by the beautiful views of hills, vineyards, and the hummingbirds that fill our outdoor spaces. We then planted our first Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel vines. The terroir of Cayetano Hill proved ideal for these varietals.

First Harvest

After three years of nurturing our vines, we celebrated our first harvest. The excitement of picking our own grapes and beginning the winemaking process was unforgettable.

Name change from M Squared to Humm Vineyards

Our 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel became the first wines to carry the Humm label, featuring our signature hummingbird. Each bottle tells the story of our Cayetano Hill vineyard.

Award-Winning Vintages

Through the past 7 years, we have won many awards for our wines. The 2021 Zinfandel earned 2nd Place in Mixed Reds at the 2025 Home Winemakers Classic — a proud moment for Humm Vineyards and validation of our winemaking journey.

A Family Affair

Humm Vineyards is a true family endeavor. From tending the vines to pouring at competitions, we share every step of this journey together. Our wines reflect the love and dedication we pour into every vintage.

The name “Humm” comes from the hummingbirds that grace our property on Cayetano Hill, darting through the foliage and reminding us of the vibrant life that surrounds our vineyard.
